If you’re vegan with an allergy to gluten, nuts, soy, etc., you know it can be a struggle finding legit options at restaurants. Well guess what? You’re in luck because we’ve decided to help you out by rounding up 11 spots in LA that not only have plenty of vegan options, but also make it clear which items are free of common allergens.
Flore is an all-vegan restaurant, with a great mix of different cuisines, from breakfast items, to grain-based bowls, to raw entrees, to pizza, to Mexican fare. They clearly label which items are soy-free and/or gluten-free, plus which can be modified to fit these needs – and there’s a good range of dishes to choose from.
Best brunch in LA continues to be @florevegan 🤤 The breakfast burrito used to be my fave but then I had to stop eating gluten. So now my fave is the benediction on gf bread, no tofu bc my gut hates it. The sauce is the main reason I get this, it’s UNREAL. Also, there’s tomatoes under there somewhere, and lots of kale. Chicken ‘n waffles in the back for my man. If you haven’t been here, what are you waiting for?! (I just don’t recommend the frittata.)
Downtown LA and Culver City
Shojin is a macrobiotic Japanese restaurant, that makes all their dishes from scratch, and serves menu highlights like different sushi and ramen dishes. Their menu is not only entirely vegan, but entirely gluten-free and nut-free. They also make further designations on their menu as to which menu items are soy-free, sesame-free, onion-free, and/or garlic-free, or can be modified to these.
West Hollywood & Pasadena
At Real Food Daily, all their dishes are vegan, and they make sure to note which dishes are gluten-free, soy-free, and/or nut-free, and they have plenty of options in these categories. To name just a few, their Pancakes and Big ‘Ol Waffle are both gluten-free and soy-free, their Real Food Burger is nut-free, and their Jackfruit Street Tacos, are nut, soy, and gluten-free.
Echo Park, Culver City, & Pasadena
Sage is also entirely vegan, and they note which dishes are free of gluten, soy, and/or nuts. From lots of nut-free burgers, to gluten-free pizza options, to soy-free bowls, if you’ve got a food allergy, you don’t need to worry at Sage. They even say on their menu, “we will happily do our best to accommodate everyone’s dietary restrictions and preferences.”

Elderberries is a small café with a menu that’s all-vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free. They’ve got a pretty good variety of dish options, like a frittata, French toast, raw nachos, a patty melt, and mac ‘n’ cheese.
If you’re looking for vegan and gluten-free treats, check out Pomegranate because all their stuff is vegan and gluten-free. Plus, it’s all created from scratch, and they never use any refined sugar, chemicals, additives, or preservatives. Not only do they have sweets, but they have a regular menu that includes foods like curries, ramen, soups, and pastas – all of which are labeled if they're soy-free, sesame-free, onion-free, and/or garlic-free.
While not directly in LA, Joi Café in Westlake Village is another great option for those with food allergies. Having a daughter with food allergies, Joi Stearns established Joi Café as a fully vegan and gluten-free café. In addition to being free of gluten, Joi’s menu notes if items contain nuts and/or soy. They serve breakfast all day, along with plenty of other allergy-friendly offerings, such as burgers, bowls, enchiladas, and lots of smoothies and desserts.
Vibe is another allergy-friendly spot that may not be right in the Los Angeles area, but is worth the stop if you’re in Orange County. Their entire menu is fully vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free (bonus points for the fact that they’re 100% organic). Their breakfast menu is full of great items like chicken and waffles, a ‘Nutella’ waffle, scrambles, and bagels. And, they’ve got other offerings, like tacos, burgers, smoothie bowls, and various toasts (not just avocado!).
Although not fully vegan, Asian-fusion restaurant, Kye’s, has a vegan menu section, and designates which dishes are gluten-free, wheat-free (their menu notes, “items labeled WF instead of GF contain ingredients that may be produced in facilities that process wheat”), nut-free, and/or soy-free. They’ve got items like Tempeh Bulgogi, a Black Bean Burger, and nori wraps. Their online menu lists all of the ingredients for each of their items (scroll down to the last page).
Okay this vegan sushi burrito tho.... 🔥 (not sushi at all but reminds me of it cause seaweed & rice). Huge shoutout to my bestie @fitwithjam for taking me to this place today because this was so fugggin good! I got the AvoMacro wrap which is made up of avocado, macro pressed vegetables, wasabi dressing, sliced almonds, black sesame seeds, and a brown rice blend wrapped in nori 🤤 Will definitely be going back and trying their other wraps ASAP! 🙌🏽
Kitchen Mouse is a vegetarian café, but the only dishes that aren’t vegan are their egg dishes, which can be made vegan if you sub eggs for scrambled tofu. This café is great for those with gluten, nut, and soy allergies because it's entirely gluten-free and has plenty of soy-free and/or nut-free-marked dishes. The Snickerdoodle Pancakes are soy and nut-free, the Buffalo Bowl is soy-free, and the Avocado TLT is nut-free, just to name a few.
West Hollywood, Studio City, & Agoura Hills
Hugo’s also isn’t all-vegan, but they’ve got plenty of vegan options throughout their menu. On their menu, they are careful to indicate which items are gluten-free and which contain nuts. Also, when on their website, if you scroll to the bottom and click on “Allergens,” they have a PDF of all their menu items, with a full ingredient list next to each item, as well as a chart that notes if any of the dishes contain common allergens.
