Your Vegan Guide to Anna's House: What to Order

Anna’s House has been rooted in Kalamazoo for almost a year now. This establishment is one of our favorite venues for vegan brunch, so we thought we’d revamp our previous coverage to bring you the most up-to-date list of available plant-based options at the restaurant.

To Drink

Opt for a coffee with soy or almond milk or indulge in a specialty drink like a chai latte. Anna’s House also offers fruit smoothies, kombucha, and assorted juices.

Sweet Brunch Favorites

If you are in the mood for something sweet to start your day, we highly recommend the Chocolate Quinoa Breakfast Bowl. Another great option for the sweet tooth is the Healthy Baked Oatmeal. This one looks like a slice of cake. To veganize these sweet brunch varieties, order with non-dairy milk.

I’m sorry but this is the prettiest thing I’ve ever eaten. #vegankalamazoo

Savory Brunch Favorites

For those who prefer a savory breaky, choose one of the following:

  • Tempeh Power Bowl: tempeh bacon, brown rice, and steamed kale topped with avocado, dried cherries, and a pomegranate reduction.

  • Hippie Hash: roasted cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, radish, beets, and brown rice atop red-skinned potatoes. This item is vegan when ordered without cheese and sour cream.

  • Sweet Potato and Brussels Sprouts Hash: roasted brussels, with red onion, sweet potatoes, dried cherries, and a balsamic reduction

  • Anna’s Skillet: when ordered without ham, eggs, and cheese, this skillet will include green pepper, mushroom, onion, potatoes, tomatoes, and green onion. Bonus: substitute tempeh bacon at no extra charge.

Don’t Forget the Breakfast Sides!

Order a side of vegan tempeh bacon, fresh fruit, or toast. Vegan toast options include white, whole wheat, pumpernickel, English muffin toast, bagel, and Texas toast varieties.

Lunch Classics

If you’re in the mood for lunch, opt for the Garden Herb Sprout Burger or Blackened Tempeh Burger, both hearty, plant-based options. Anna’s House also offers a Very Veggie Panini which can be easily veganized. Be sure to pair your entree a side of fries. Both traditional and sweet potato fries are vegan, however be aware that the brown sugar butter served with the sweet potato fries is not.

Feeling something green? Opt for one of the many modifiable salads like the Anna’s Gourmet Nut & Berry Salad when ordered without chicken or cheese. Vegan dressings include Greek, Raspberry Vinaigrette, and Pom Blueberry Vinaigrette.

Be sure to follow Anna's House on Instagram to stay up to date on their latest dessert offering. They've had everything from vegan maple spice donuts to double chocolate cookie sandwiches.

Don’t live in Kalamazoo? Don’t fret. Anna’s House is also located in Grand Rapids, Grandville, Holland, and Westland. Hours of operation for all locations are 6am to 3pm daily.
