8 Vegan Finds at The Gift Loft

We’re all about heading out for dinner with friends, but sometimes you’re just out shopping and want to pick up a few things for the house. Maybe you find yourself at The Gift Loft, an environmentally conscious shop with a Scandinavian flair. According to Sandy Neal, owner of The Gift Loft, the store offers “teak furniture sourced from teakwood forests which have been reforested since 1960.” You can also find eco-friendly gift items as well, including Laurel Burch fabric bags, Mexican recycled glass balls, organic Ekelund table runners and dish towels, and locally made hand-turned bowls from fallen timber. The Gift Loft also chooses to not sell leather products; a vegan win! We visited the shop to see what vegan goodies we could find among the gifts. This what we found:

Finn Crisp

A 0 fat, 0 cholesterol, whole grain rye crisp bread. What more need we say?

Gingersnaps

One word. Cookies. In a beautiful little tin. Give as a gift, if you can restrain yourself.

Lars Spicy Brown Mustard

An award winning mustard at the Napa Valley Mustard Festival! Fancy. And vegan.

Glogg

Warm yourself on a winter day with this Scandinavian drink. Spiced with cloves, cardamom, and citrus. Heat and enjoy. Or don’t heat and enjoy.

Lingonberry Drink Concentrate

Lingonberries. Dr. Oz’s favorite superfruit. Great in a punch or in the smoothie recipe below.

Coffee

Ground in Sweden, this medium roast is the equivalent of a rich, dark American coffee.

Preserves

Someone pass the almond butter. We’ve got sandwiches to make!

Plant Stearin Candles

100% plant stearin. This means 100% not animal sourced.

Lingonberry Smoothie anyone? Try this Dr. Oz recipe.

Mix all this in your blender and drink up -

¾ cup ice

¾ cup almond milk

1 tablespoon lingonberry drink concentrate

Simple and delicious!

Thanks, Sandy, for taking time out to fill us in on all the vegan offerings!
