We search the internet for the best vegan things to do in the city, so you don't have to. Here's this week's list.
1. Tuesday 7/11 - Vegan Night at One Well Brewing
2. Wednesday 7/12 - Beer Garden Movie Summer Series
Head to Bell's Eccentric Cafe to catch a free flick. This Wednesday they're screening La La Land as part of their summer series. The best part? You can enjoy the movie with a vegan-friendly beer in hand. Don't forget a blanket to sit on!
3. Wednesday 7/12 - Tap Takeover on the Mall
Tap Takeover on the Mall is a recurring business networking event that takes place every Wednesday through July 27. The event celebrates live music, downtown business, and Kalamazoo craft beer. There will be plenty of vegan-friendly drinks, so grab your favorite and enjoy a live performance by Drop35! Gates open at 5pm.
4. Thursday 7/13 - Water St. Live
Every Thursday this summer Water Street's Portage location is hosting live music on their patio. So grab a cup of joe and your favorite vegan treat and chill out to the tunes of this week's performer, Edge of Midnight.
5. Friday 7/14 - Lunchtime Live!
Visit Bronson Park this Friday between 11:30am and 1pm for live music and great food. Lunchtime Live happens every summer Friday and although there are mostly BBQ trucks, Pachamama Street Food is committed to offering a vegan option, like tofu tacos (pictured above). Check out the music lineup here.
6. Sunday 7/16 - Community Vegan Dinner and Banana Ice Cream Social
Chef Sara Kozminske will be cooking up vegan food this Sunday evening at First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo downtown. The dinner is free and open to the public, however, donations, volunteering, and/or a dish to pass is encouraged.
Also be sure to check out all the great farmers markets happening around town, including the Kalamazoo Market, Portage Market, Night Market and Texas Township Farmers' Market. Check back each week for more happenings!
