We search the internet for the best vegan things to do in the city, so you don't have to. Here's this week's list.
1. Wednesday 7/5 - Tap Takeover on the Mall
Tap Takeover on the Mall is a recurring business networking event that takes place every Wednesday through July 27. The event celebrates live music, downtown business, and Kalamazoo craft beer. There will be plenty of vegan-friendly drinks, so grab your favorite and enjoy a live performance by U.S. Army Band! Gates open at 5pm.
2. Friday 7/7 - Billy Strings @ Bell's Eccentric Cafe
Grab a vegan-friendly beer and chill out in the beer garden as Billy Strings takes the stage. Admission is $20 and tickets can be purchased here.
3. Friday 7/7 - Water Street Vegan Menu Tasting: Presented by VegOut Kalamazoo
Stop by Water Street on Oakland Drive to try FREE samples of their vegan items, including vegan energy bites and apricot cous cous. Just look for the VegOut table! Bonus, the first 10 people get FREE VegOut t-shirts/tank tops.
4. Friday 7/7 - Lunchtime Live!
Visit Bronson Park this Friday between 11:30am and 1pm for live music and great food. Lunchtime Live happens every summer Friday and although there are mostly BBQ trucks, Pachamama Street Food is committed to offering a vegan option, like tofu tacos. Check out the music lineup here.
5. Friday 7/7 - Kalamazoo Late Night Food Truck Rally
Starting at 9pm, Kalamazoo food trucks will gather downtown and serve food until midnight. In addition to food, the event will include music, artisans, and networking. So after hitting your favorite downtown bar, swing by one of Kalamazoo's vegan friendly food trucks and grab a bite.
6. Saturday 7/8 - Vegan Battle Creek CookOut!
Head to Historic Bridge Park in Battle Creek for a day of vegan food and festivities benefiting All Species Kinship. Admission is free, but donations are happily accepted. Don't forget to bring a vegan dish to pass!
Also be sure to check out all the great farmers markets happening around town, including the Kalamazoo Market, Portage Market, Night Market and Texas Township Farmers' Market. Check back each week for more happenings!
