We alluded to a Turntable pop-up brunch in our last post, so let us tell you a little more about it. Along with the Turntable pop-up dinners, Chef Denise Miller and Chef Paul Vugteveen will be turning the table on brunch as well. We had the pleasure of tasting the offerings and let us tell you, it was everything we were looking for in a brunch and more.
First, we tried out Chef Paul’s Root Vegetable Hash. Constructed with caramelized onions, house-made vegan herbed-mozzarella, and tangy hollandaise, this was certainly the best breakfast hash we have ever had. We paired it with a side of house-made vegan bacon which, of course, gets a VegOut thumbs up as well.
Next, we tried a vegan take on a southern-inspired favorite: Chicken & Waffles. This classic consisted of a jumbo waffle topped with vegan butter and jumbleberry glaze and served with chef Denise’s house-made Chicken-ish. While the recipe is a secret, she let us know this crispy mock chicken is protein-rich, making for a satisfying meat substitute. Even your most carnivorous friends will love this dish.
On to the Quiche. Chef Paul outdid himself with this breathtakingly beautiful and delicious vegan quiche. With kale, beet, leek, and house-made vegan feta, what’s not to love? This gorgeous brunch classic was served with a side of fresh greens and crunchy radishes.
Last but not least, let’s talk about the muffin. This wasn’t your average baked-good. This was a jumbo cranberry muffin topped with vegan butter and jumbleberry glaze. It was warm, soft, and sweet, the perfect treat to end our weekend.
