We want to give a shout out to those who serve the vegan community. We couldn’t write the articles we write, eat the food we love, or share such lovely photos without the help of these good folks. Look for Vegan Chef Spotlight articles as we celebrate those who work to provide us with beautiful, delicious plant-based foods.
This week we talked with Iesha Murry, co-owner of Mrs. Murry’s Naturals. This is what Iesha had to say.
VegOut Indianapolis: Share your personal vegan journey.
Iesha: What started this vegan journey was that the doctors found a lump under my left arm. Cancer runs on both sides of my family. This was a big wake up call for me. As I did my research it always came back to food. That was my answer: Veganism. That was six years ago. Today, I am clear and free and have not looked back since.
VegOut Indianapolis: How did you come to incorporate vegan cooking into your work?
Iesha: It’s more like I incorporated work into my vegan cooking.
VegOut Indianapolis: For whom do you work and what are your specialties?
Iesha: Iesha Murry and Mr. Bear Murry are the owners of Mrs. Murry’s Naturals which specializes in vegan cuisine.
VegOut Indianapolis: What would you love to do more of in the future?
Iesha: Exactly what we’re doing now, helping and inspiring people to take better care of themselves and the planet so we can all live healthier, happier lives. We believe eating a plant-based diet can result in vitality, internal peace, and overall well-being for all. We enjoy showing everyone that veganism does not have to be bland or boring. Six years ago my husband was 300 pounds with very little energy. Now, he works 12-16 hours and on his off days can work out at the gym for hours. That’s what being vegan does for you!
